James and Oliver Phelps, known for their roles as Fred and George Weasley in the Harry Potter films, have reunited with some of their former cast members for a spell-binding series. The competition show combines Bake Off with the fantasy film franchise as a group of bakers make fantastical edible creations for a team of professional judges.

The Phelps twins return with their exceptional charm and behind-the-scenes anecdotes as hosts of the show. Although they admitted they will always be known for their Harry Potter roles, they have had busy lives outside of the franchise.

The twins, who are 38 years old, were born in Birmingham with Oliver being the eldest of the two, by 13 minutes. During filming for Harry Potter, they were tutored on set.

They had no previous acting experience, but decided to skip school to attend an open audition and managed to bag the roles. Outside of acting, James has experience as a runner on the set of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and on The Da Vinci Code.

The twins have also been involved in the Harry Potter Exhibition and helped promote it by touring different countries. Oliver made his stage debut in 2018, in The Case of the Frightened Lady.

Oliver married Katy Humpage in 2015 and they have two daughters called Autumn and Emilia.

Oliver opened up about how he 'ruined' a couple's romantic marriage proposal while he was on holiday at Sydney, Australia.

The star had been watching the Sydney Harbour fireworks when a man approached him and asked if he could move out of the way.

Oliver refused and stood his ground, but was embarassed when he realised what the man was doing and he watched him propose to his girlfriend.

"I've had a few shameful incidents on holiday too," he told The Times as he recalled the incident.

"A few minutes before the clock struck midnight a guy started to bug me for my space.

"Being stubborn I didn't want to give it up and miss out on a romantic moment, so I refused to budge, [but] eventually I moved to one side when the fireworks had finished and there was just a cloud of smoke left.

"The guy proceeded to get down on one knee and propose to his girlfriend, with not a firework left in sight — I felt terrible," he admitted.

In June 2022, Oliver and James visited Australia again for a series of Harry Potter fan events in Sydney and Perth.
