I'm a Celeb: Ant declares the end of Barry's eyesight jokes

I’m A Celebrity’s Ant and Dec always come up with their hilarious one liner about one of the campmates and this year it was at the expense of boxing legend, Barry McGuigan.

In his first challenge of the series, he failed to collect a star as he wasn’t able to see a thing. The star was unable to crack padlock codes in the dark while trapped underground with snakes alongside McFly’s Danny Jones. Ever since, Ant and Dec have been exclaiming: “He can’t see man."

However following the boxer's shock exit from the ITV hit reality show, the presenting duo returned to our TV screens on Friday (December 6) night as they made an ‘emotional’ announcement and marked an ‘end’ to the running job.

Speaking about the campmates reaction to the elimination, Dec started off by saying: “They’re all so caught up saying goodbye to Maura and Barry.”

Ant joked: “And we got emotional too.” Dec admitted: “We did.” Ant announced: “We did because that marks the end of the jokes about Barry’s eyesight.”

Everyone burst out laughing as Dec said: “Yeah That’s it, that’s it and I can’t see us doing anymore. Well Barry can’t see..”

As he attempted to finish his sentence, Ant interrupted and said: “You’ve got to stop. It was fun while it lasted and it turns out he actually can see.” Dec jumped up: “He can see man.” Ant shouted: “He can see. He had eye surgery.”

It comes as last night Barryand fellow campmate Maura Higgins were booted off the show. The pair became the latest stars to be kicked out of the jungle as part of a double eviction twist, which sent shock waves throughout the camp.

Boxer Barry became the father of the camp, particularly to Danny Jones. Speaking about his exit: "As I'm the original cyclone, I am kinda disappointed with that slipping and looking like a clown, it would've been great."

Meanwhile Love Island star Maura, 34, was a late arrival to the jungle alongside Reverend Richard Coles.
