Our Yorkshire Farm's Reuben Owen leaves the UK in major career move

Fans of Our Yorkshire Farm are overjoyed at the reunion of Reuben Owen and his close friend Tommy in his new Channel 5 series.

In the one-off episode, Reuben Owen: Christmas in the Dales, Reuben's younger siblings Sid and Miles also make an appearance.

The hour-long programme, which airs on Wednesday, features Tommy and Reuben embarking on an adventure in Sweden.

The episode's synopsis reads: "Reuben plans a festive gathering for friends and family at their local spot to express gratitude for their support of his heavy plant machinery business.

"Before the preparations, Reuben and Tommy take his new snowmobile for a spin through a field filled with sheep and also embark on a trip to a Swedish mining town in the Arctic Circle for some end-of-year work," reports Leeds Live.

Enthusiastic fans have taken to social media to express their delight over the reunion, with one writing: "Love seeing Reuben as he matures and with his lovely friendship with Tommy. Missed their input in the recent show."

Another wrote: "Can't wait, lovely to see them all back together."

Reuben and Tommy last appeared together in the farmer's solo series Reuben Owen: Life in the Dales, which also featured Reuben's ex-girlfriend, Sarah Dow. During a May episode, Tommy opened up about potentially departing from Reuben's excavation enterprise to pursue HGV lorry driving on a full-time basis.

While Tommy was preparing for his exams, Reuben shared his concerns with Sarah, saying: "If Tommy passes his test, we may never see him again. That might be him; the open road awaits."

Sarah responded with a noncommittal: "Maybe."

Later in the show, as they gathered for a tea break, Tommy addressed the speculation about his future with the team.

Reuben probed his friend: "Are we going to lose you any time soon then? ".

Tommy paused before answering: "No, I wouldn't have thought so. I haven't even booked my test yet, so it definitely won't be soon."

Curious about the arrangements post-exam, Reuben queried: "When you pass, will you do a couple of days with me, a couple of days with Neil, or...?"

Tommy affirmed his intentions: "Yeah," he said. "I obviously want to drive a wagon, but I'll still help you now and again."

Reuben Owen: Christmas in the Dales airs on Wednesday at 9pm on Channel 5.
