A player who secured a PGA Tour card through the DP World Tour's Race to Dubai Rankings has reportedly approached a LIV Golf franchise. The top 10 players not already exempt were granted playing rights on the PGA Tour for the following year at the end of the DP World Tour season last month.

It has been confirmed that one of these players has reached out to LIV about joining the breakaway league in 2025. Rasmus Hojgaard, Paul Waring, Thriston Lawrence, Jesper Svensson, Niklas Norgaard, Matteo Manassero, Thorbjorn Olesen, Antoine Rozner, Rikuya Hoshino and Tom McKibbin were the 10 players to earn their PGA Tour cards from the Wentworth-based circuit.

This comes as the LIV setup entered its offseason transfer window late last month, which allows teams to trade players between them, as well as bringing fresh faces in from elsewhere. LIV sources have confirmed that franchise General Managers have been fielding calls from players outside of the league.

Most notably, talks have increased with players and the league on the back of a report that LIV were in negotiations with the DP World Tour over a peace deal. LIV backers, the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia (PIF) have been in talks with the PGA Tour for some time over ending their dispute, however a deal is yet to be signed off 18 months on from Jay Monahan's initial framework agreement.

According to Bloomberg, the Saudi fund is currently in discussions with the DP World Tour regarding a separate deal. It was reported that under a proposed agreement, players from both circuits would be allowed to compete freely.

A Sports Illustrated report in September revealed that LIV had extended an olive branch to the DP World Tour, but this was turned down. At the time, Mirror Sport discovered that the European circuit was not willing to compromise with LIV, aiming to maintain their previous stance towards the breakaway league.

The PGA Tour was also informed of the approach due to the DP World Tour's 'Strategic Alliance' with their American partners. Insiders at LIV believe the tide is beginning to turn in professional golf, with players now approaching the league rather than LIV making the first move.

The breakaway league has yet to announce any new names this winter, however, Dustin Johnson's 4Aces completed the first trade of the offseason, after Sports Illustrated confirmed Thomas Pieters' arrival from the RangeGoats. A new face will be announced later this week at the Saudi International, where the leading player from the Asian Tour's International Series will be promoted to LIV.
