LIV Golf star Patrick Reed is determined to secure his spot at the 2025 Ryder Cup, as he looks forward to being a "pest" that's "bugging the heck out of those Euros."

The former Masters champion, whose last Ryder Cup appearance dates back to 2018, has unsettled the European team in the past. Despite sitting out the 2021 tournament due to illness and not being picked for the 2023 event after defecting to LIV, Reed is encouraged by news that US captain Keegan Bradley is open-minded about selecting LIV Golf stars for the contest at Bethpage Black.

In an interview with Gulf News, Reed expressed his optimism: "Obviously, that's great news. I like how he's open to trying to put out the best team possible. I feel like there's a lot of guys on LIV that can really help out that team. At the end of the day, it's ultimately his decision.

"Obviously, I'd love to be back on that team. I'd love to be that pest that's always, you know, bugging the heck out of those Euros."

Reed, 34, has an impressive Ryder Cup record. He emerged as Team USA's leading light in both the 2014 and 2016 events held in Gleneagles and Hazeltine, securing 3.5 points on each occasion.

However, his run at the 2018 Ryder Cup at Le Golf National was disappointing, only managing a single point as the American side endured a crushing loss in Paris—an outcome Reed is eager to avenge next year.

During a press conference in September, Bradley disclosed his plan to choose the strongest 12-man lineup regardless of what circuit they play their golf on.

"For us, I am going to take the 12 best players," he stated. "If we feel like there are a few guys there, from one guy, two guys, whatever it is. Then we are going to do that, but we are too far out to figure out how all this will play out but we are definitely going to take the 12 best players, however that shakes out."

Reed has since commended Bradley's willingness to consider players from the controversial Saudi-backed circuit for Team USA.

Expressing his approval, Reed commented: "I love to hear that he's going to stand up and be like, 'Hey, since I'm captain, I'm going to put the best Americans out there that I feel like are best for our team'.

"Honestly, that's how it should be, and good for him. I'm proud to hear that, and I'm excited to hear about that. Now, hopefully, we can just go out and do our job, play some good golf, and hopefully get in that mix."
