Kendrick Lamar's "Not Like Us" Could See Surge in Sales Following Drake's Legal Filings Against UMG, Spotify

Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” has experienced a boost in popularity after Drake filed legal petitions against Universal Music Group (UMG), Spotify and iHeartRadio over the diss track.

Talk of the Charts revealed on X that "Not Like Us" is projected to experience a surge both in sales and streams this week, with estimations coming in at a 440% increase in US sales and a 20% increase in US streams. The diss track also returned to the Apple Music and Spotify charts, moving up 16 spots on Spotify's Global chart. As HipHopDX notes, these numbers will likely affect its placement on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Last week's legal filings from The Boy accused UMG of defamation and illegally boosting the diss track's popularity by using bots and payola, claiming that they were aware of the lyrics that painted Drake of being a "predator" and "certified pedophile," but chose not to do anything about it out of greed. He also accused Spotify of receiving reduced licensing rates in return for suggesting “Not Like Us” to users who have searched “unrelated songs and artists,” as well as iHeartRadio of receiving payments from UMG as part of a “pay-to-play scheme” to promote the track on the airwaves.
