ITV I'm a Celebrity fans concerned for stars' safety as evacuation calls mount
Fans of I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here! have been growingly concerned for the star-studded line up on this year's show after the camp was battered by heavy rain. Clips from on this evening's episode (December 1) showed the downpour hitting the jungle hard as water ran through the camp like a stream.
It was a very wet morning in camp as the celebrities woke up in very damp surroundings, with Coronation Street star Alan Halsall saying: "Last night’s weather was honestly biblical, we had rivers flowing through camp, pathways that are now waterways, everyone’s bed was drenched.
"I mean it was incredible. That was some rain that came down!" Boxer Barry McGuigan added: “In my entire 63 years of life, I have never ever seen such rain, never."
One celebrity contestant seemed to get the brunt of the rain as he was forced to abandon his bed. Melvin Odoom had to resort to sleeping in the Bush Telegraph after his hammock was saturated.
He told his campmates: “I woke up, my sleeping bag was wet, my clothes were wet, everything.” It seems the evening had taken its toll on the radio DJ as he became emotional with his co-stars rushing to support him.
