Watch Tokyo Police Club play their final show in Toronto
Tokyo Police Club played their final ever show in their hometown of Toronto on Friday (November 29) â check out footage below.
The Canadian indie rock group â made up of David Monks, Graham Wright, Josh Hook and Greg Alsop â made the announcement that they were breaking up at the start of the year, saying that it was âtime for us to say goodbyeâ.
They confirmed that their last show would go down at Torontoâs History venue, and the sold-out show took place in front of their most devout fans. They played an extensive 29-song set, including a nine-track encore, drawing on music from across their career.
Making appearances were âCheer It Onâ, âCitizens Of Tomorrowâ and âNature Of The Experimentâ from their debut EP âA Lesson In Crimeâ from 2006, all the way up to tracks from their final full-length release âTPCâ in 2018.
See fan-captured footage from the show below.

Announcing their decision to end in January, the band wrote: âItâs time for us to say goodbye! This band has meant so much to us for so many years, but all magical things must come to an end. Tokyo Police Club will always stand for the connection we have shared ever since we were teenagers, and itâs brought so many amazing people and moments into our lives.â
The band continued, saying that they âhave a few more things up our sleeve before we go,â and adding: âThank you from the bottom of our collective heart for the unbelievable support and inspiration over the years â you will always be a part of the TPC family. See you in the funny pages!â
In a review of 2014âs âForcefieldâ album, NME said: âAfter the initial hype-whirl labelled them the âCanadian Strokesâ, itâs admirable that Ontarioâs Tokyo Police Club have survived long enough to release their fourth album.
âThe trouble is they still sound too much like, well, like the Canadian Strokes, although nowhere near as good as that moniker suggests. Theyâre still likeable, with chirpy vocalist/bassist David Monks sounding like heâs singing through a grin the size of a melon slice (hardly something you could say about Julian Casablancas).â
