Strictly Come Dancing star Pete Wicks is ‘set to exit’ the BBC dance competition alongside pro partner Jowita Przystal.

The TV star has been confirmed as the bookies’ clear favourite to be the next dancer to leave the contest this weekend as a former Strictly star nailed her colours to the mast and predicted he will “definitely be in the bottom two".

Pete opened up last week about how he’s found the series tough and expected to be going home each week - but that people keep voting for him.

Pete and Jowita fell to the bottom of the leaderboard last week, but not only escaped elimination but managed to escape the dance-off entirely, with Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe squaring off against Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkis, and Jamie ultimately being sent home.

He had told Janette Manrara: “We were bottom of the leaderboard by some way and I just thought, my luck must have run out now surely. But again whoever is voting for me, thank you.”

But betmakers, fuelled by the analysis from a former Strictly star, says Pete’s number will be up this coming quarter-final weekend.

Mecca Bingo has teamed up with Ola Jordan, former Strictly Come Dancing professional, to share her thoughts on who could be at risk ahead of this weekend’s episode.

She said: “I think Montell doing the Rumba will definitely be in the bottom two again this week. It’s hard to predict now as JB is the only celebrity remaining who has been in the bottom two – the others have never been in the bottom two. But JB might be getting votes now.

“I think it’s going to be between Chris, Pete and JB to be in the bottom two with Montell. Chris, Pete and JB are all doing a Ballroom dance which is in a frame so it’s going to be easier for all of them. It’s going to be quite hard to pick because they will all be good so it will come down to who’s getting the most votes.

“I think Sarah and Tasha will both be safe. Sarah is doing the Charleston which is going to be quite energetic and full-on. Tasha is doing Argentine Tango, which is always a crowd-pleaser, so I think they’ll both avoid the bottom two.”

Simon Kew, spokesperson for Grosvenor Sport, added: “Pete Wicks is once again the odds-on favourite to leave Strictly this weekend, despite him not appearing in the dance-off on the show. The market now has Wicks as the 3/5 favourite to leave the show with a 63% implied probability given that he will be the next to leave the show.

“His popularity has kept him from a dreaded dance-off appearance so far, can they save him for another week?

“Second favourite to leave the show this weekend is Montell, priced at 5/4 with a 44% implied probability. Montell and Johannes were saved from elimination last weekend, after ending up in the dance off for a third time.”

“Elsewhere in the market, JB Gill is 6/1 to be eliminated and Tasha Ghouri is 33/1. Chris McCausland and Sarah Hadland are our longshots at 50/1.”
