On Thursday, Warwickshire Police issued a statement following an incident involving Real Madrid's team bus on the M40 near Warwick.

The collision occurred just a day after their Champions League defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.

Eyewitnesses took to social media to share footage of the coach, which appeared to have crashed into a lorry and was stationary on the motorway's side. The police confirmed that the accident involved a car, a lorry, and the coach, but thankfully, there were no serious injuries.

It's important to note that none of the Real Madrid players were on board at the time, as they had likely returned to Spain shortly after the match. The bus was in use for transporting equipment for the game.

"Our officers responded to reports of a collision involving a car, a lorry, and the coach of a well-known football team on the M40 southbound between junction 16 for Hockley Heath and junction 15 for Warwick," the police statement detailed.

"Fortunately, nobody was seriously injured. The players from the well-known football team were not on the coach at the time."

This isn't the first mishap for the newly unveiled bus, which matches the design of the club's £1.5 billion Bernabeu Stadium rebuild; it was previously involved in an accident in Germany earlier this year during the Champions League round of 16 first leg against RB Leipzig.

For that match, the team was forced to land in Erfurt instead of Leipzig due to a strike at the latter's airport. This resulted in a 100-mile coach journey during which, as reported by German tabloid Bild, they had a collision with a white Toyota.
