Bryson DeChambeau has opened up about his "fairytale" victory at this year's US Open during a chat with NFL icon Tom Brady. The golf sensation and the former New England Patriots quarterback delved into DeChambeau's major triumph during an episode of the 'Break 50' series.

While hitting the links, the conversation naturally veered towards DeChambeau's dramatic win at Pinehurst in June, marking his second US Open title. The LIV Golf star recounted the tense final moments as he edged out PGA Tour competitor Rory McIlroy in a thrilling conclusion to the tournament in North Carolina.

As captain of Crushers GC, DeChambeau faced a critical situation needing a par on the last hole to clinch the championship. Despite a misdirected tee shot that left him battling from a waste area and subsequently a fairway bunker, DeChambeau demonstrated sheer brilliance by landing his bunker shot within five feet of the pin and sinking the putt for a memorable victory.

In a candid exchange captured on DeChambeau's YouTube channel, Brady inquired if that was the best shot of his career. And the golfer didn't even hesitate as emphatically agreed, saying: "[Yes], not even close."

Reflecting on the significance of his achievement, the emotional two-time US Open winner shared: "I couldn't have written a fairytale story better than that one for me. Getting up and down, looking up knowing my dad was watching. That was really cool. It gets me emotional every time.

The support for DeChambeau was palpable at Pinehurst, where he appeared to win over many fans. Discussing his victory and foray into the YouTube arena as a means to expand the sport's reach, he continued: "Then coming to the US Open it was a culmination of a lot of hard work and persistence trying to do the right thing. The next right thing and it paid off and it was really cool."

"This is not about me, this is about growing the game, doing wonders for everyone, and connecting people around the world. That is my goal and initiative with YouTube."

DeChambeau and Brady narrowly missed breaking the 50 mark after carding 50 on the nose. That was despite the LIV star sinking an impressive eagle chip at the last hole as the pair at least finished on a high.
