Hairy Bikers' Si King 'can't find the words' as he details poignant tribute to Dave Myers

This Morning: Si King chats about bike ride he did for late pal Dave

Si King, of The Hairy Bikers fame, graced Thursday's This Morning with a beef curry hotpot for hosts Dermot O'Leary and Cat Deeley, but the segment took an emotional turn as he reminisced about his late best friend, Dave Myers.

BBC audiences are in for a heartfelt tribute next month with a special documentary titled The Hairy Bikers: You'll Never Ride Alone, showcasing Si and Dave's cherished moments and their remarkable journey on television.

As Si whipped up his culinary creation, Dermot seized the opportunity to inquire about the chef's forthcoming documentary set to premiere during the festive season. He asked:"I remember seeing the footage of this 300 or so bikes. How many bikes would do it?"

Revealing a staggering 46,000 motorcycles participated, Si left Dermot utterly astonished. Cat then teased viewers with a sneak peek of the touching documentary, leading to a powerful on-screen moment.

Returning to the studio, an emotional Si watched the clip, prompting Cat to describe the scene as 'spectacular,' while Dermot, feeling goosebumps, asked about Si's feelings on that day, reports the Mirror.

Si emotionally expressed: "You know moments in your life when you can't find the words to describe; there are no superlatives to describe what happened that day.

"It was community, it was love, it was respect, it was fellowship and a massive, massive outpouring of love for my best mate Dave, you know, it was wonderful."

In an emotional post earlier this year, Si King shared the heartbreaking news that his fellow Hairy Biker, Dave Myers, died. At the age of 66, Dave lost his battle to cancer, surrounded by his loving wife Lili and close ones, in the comfort of his own home.

The upcoming BBC documentary pays homage to the late Dave Myers, with over 40,000 bikers joining Si in a tribute ride from London to Dave's hometown Barrow-in-Furness this April.

Reflecting on the documentary meant to celebrate his best mate, Si commented: "It was a very special show to pull together. Full of nostalgia, laughs and celebration of my best friend and his life."

BBC's Catherine Catton remarked: "Dave and Si hold a very special place in the Nation's heart, and this emotional film pays tribute to an extraordinary friendship."

Audiences across the nation can tune into this touching one-hour special when it airs next month.

It wasn't long before viewers took to Twitter to share their thoughts on Si's solo appearance on the ITV show, with many emotional. One fan wrote: " Still weird seeing Si King on his own, a solo #HairyBikers cooking on #ThisMorning His tribute to his best mate Dave Myers was beyond heart-warming. 46,000 bikers joined him on ride to #BarrowInFurness."
