ITV Coronation Street fans 'work out' who takes over Debbie's hotel after 'shock death'
Coronation Street fans are convinced they've figured out the next proprietor of the Chariot Square hotel amid rumours that Debbie Webster is to meet a tragic end.
Debbie, portrayed by Sue Devaney since her first appearance in 1984 as Kevin's sister (played by Michael Le Vell), left in 1985 but made a comeback in 2019.
Taking over the Chariot Square hotel a few years back, Debbie has won over viewers' hearts. Yet, whispers this week suggest her character might face a fatal exit.
Insiders claim Sue Devaney will give a heart-wrenching performance as Debbie grapples with an upcoming dementia diagnosis. The storyline, set to unfold in 2025, is expected to be "long-running" and "promises to be heartbreaking".
A source disclosed to Metro: "It's one of the show's biggest storylines of the year, and a real chance for Sue to finally get her time in the spotlight – it will just be devastating for fans that it will effectively be her final storyline."

"Rosie! Which ties in her return," exclaimed an eager fan. Another enthusiast wrote: "I can see this happening! " while yet another added: "Hoping that this storyline with Debbie leads to a Webster revival with Rosie and Sophie."

In 2012, Helen Flanagan decided to exit the show to explore new acting ventures. She made a comeback in 2017 but took leave again in 2018 for the birth of her daughter Delilah, and has been off-screen since then.
