BBC presenter loses it after accidentally making X-rated joke live on-air

Peter Levy can't hold in laughter after X-rated blunder

BBC’s Peter Levy couldn’t contain his laughter after making a saucy joke during the broadcaster’s Look North news programme.

This came as Yorkshire Council admitted their error when the parking lines in Goole were painted too narrow for the average car.

As Becki Bowden reported on the story, clips of cars being parked over the lines appeared on screens to reflect the gravity of the mistake.

However, the journalist revealed: “The lines are likely to be repainted on Wednesday, so until then the message is, don’t worry if your parking is looking a little dodgy.”

As the programme returned to the studio, Peter remarked: “Yes, so many people in Goole looking forward to to those extra inches on Wednesday.”

As he attempted to move on to the next topic, the presenter let out a laugh after realising his error.

The blunder left viewers amused as they took to social media with their reactions including ‪@georgeous.one‬ who noted: “Tried so hard not to laugh, but failed at the end.”

@Aident06 commented: “I love the realisation,” as @Okeating stated: “He's a national treasure, for these moments alone.”

An impressed @mrsbird14656367 added: “Loved the delivery of little Gainsborough… top drawer Peter, very funny... funny.”

Peter had also come across the clip making the rounds on social media as he shared his astonishment with “Dear God ...”

According to the BBC, the spaces on Pasture Road have been painted 5.5ft (1.7m) wide, despite East Riding of Yorkshire Council requesting a width of 6.5ft (2m).

The council said it had investigated the size of the spaces and found they fell “slightly short of the guide width.”

“Drivers can park as normal and no parking fines will be issued in the meantime,” their statement added.
