Jelly Roll regrets how he responded to accusations of Satanism

Jelly Roll has spoken of his regrets about how he dealt with social media accusations that he was a Satanist.

The flurry of conspiracy theories came from trolls on X after the singer performed at Ozzy Osbourne’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in October.

Jelly Roll sang Osbourne’s power ballad ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ at the event, and in a new interview on The Pat McAfee Show, he admitted that he let the subsequent social media attacks get to him.

“I doubled down like a real fucking dumbass,” he reflected. “I go, ‘You know what, I’m getting off X, y’all are mean to me. That was so not the approach. I’m back on socials. Well, I’m getting back.”

This is for sure the most toxic negative app to exist ever — PERIOD. lol. This place is different man, I always heard it was the Wild West on here but man it’s insane . It’s a safe place for everyone to say mean shit to each other with no consequences. I’m out lol

The singer lashed out at the time, tweeting that X is “the most toxic negative app to exist ever – PERIOD. lol. This place is different man, I always heard it was the Wild West on here but man it’s insane. It’s a safe place for everyone to say mean shit to each other with no consequences. I’m out lol.”

Explaining why it affected him so badly, he has now said: “I started getting drawn into weird stuff that made me feel weird, because I’m a man of faith. I’m like, ‘Man, y’all really don’t know me if you think I would even … Satan runs from the name I say. You know what I mean? That’s all I’m gonna say. I say one name and Satan scatters. I don’t worry about nobody touching my butt or no illuminati.”

In other Jelly Roll news, he recently opened up about his weight loss journey and battle with food addiction. Having lost 111 pounds, he said: “I’ve never had a healthy relationship with food, so that was the hard part. But once you get into that discipline and commitment, it’s like an avalanche. Once that little snowball started rolling, it was on its way.”

He was also recently announced as the opening support for Post Malone on his ‘The Big Ass Stadium Tour’.

Elsewhere, Dwayne Johnson has opened up about the impact one of Jelly Roll‘s songs had on him during a rough mental health patch. The actor said he had discovered the singer’s work when he was “going through a hard time”.

“That really moved me and touched me,” he said of the lyrics to 2017 song ‘Only’. “We got in contact with each other and I told him what it meant to me. We didn’t know each other but became really good friends. That’s my boy, and I love that guy.”
