Jelly Roll regrets how he responded to accusations of Satanism
Jelly Roll has spoken of his regrets about how he dealt with social media accusations that he was a Satanist.
The flurry of conspiracy theories came from trolls on X after the singer performed at Ozzy Osbourneâs Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in October.
Jelly Roll sang Osbourneâs power ballad âMama, Iâm Coming Homeâ at the event, and in a new interview on The Pat McAfee Show, he admitted that he let the subsequent social media attacks get to him.
âI doubled down like a real fucking dumbass,â he reflected. âI go, âYou know what, Iâm getting off X, yâall are mean to me. That was so not the approach. Iâm back on socials. Well, Iâm getting back.â

The singer lashed out at the time, tweeting that X is âthe most toxic negative app to exist ever â PERIOD. lol. This place is different man, I always heard it was the Wild West on here but man itâs insane. Itâs a safe place for everyone to say mean shit to each other with no consequences. Iâm out lol.â
Explaining why it affected him so badly, he has now said: “I started getting drawn into weird stuff that made me feel weird, because I’m a man of faith. I’m like, ‘Man, y’all really don’t know me if you think I would even … Satan runs from the name I say. You know what I mean? That’s all I’m gonna say. I say one name and Satan scatters. I donât worry about nobody touching my butt or no illuminati.”
In other Jelly Roll news, he recently opened up about his weight loss journey and battle with food addiction. Having lost 111 pounds, he said: âIâve never had a healthy relationship with food, so that was the hard part. But once you get into that discipline and commitment, itâs like an avalanche. Once that little snowball started rolling, it was on its way.â
He was also recently announced as the opening support for Post Malone on his âThe Big Ass Stadium Tourâ.Â
Elsewhere, Dwayne Johnson has opened up about the impact one of Jelly Rollâs songs had on him during a rough mental health patch. The actor said he had discovered the singerâs work when he was âgoing through a hard timeâ.
âThat really moved me and touched me,â he said of the lyrics to 2017 song âOnlyâ. âWe got in contact with each other and I told him what it meant to me. We didnât know each other but became really good friends. Thatâs my boy, and I love that guy.â
