Inside Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson's Holiday Plans Amid Separation

and will spend the upcoming holidays as a family despite living separately, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly.

“Jessica and Eric plan on being all together for the holidays with the kids,” the insider tells Us. “It’s all about the kids and family. They don’t hate each other.”

Simpson, 44, and the former NFL player, 45, share three children: Maxwell, 12, Ace, 11, and Birdie, 5.

Simpson and Johnson started dating in 2010 following their respective divorces from and. Johnson proposed to Simpson within six months, and they tied the knot in July 2014.

A second source confirmed to Us earlier this month that the pair, who have recently been spotted without their wedding rings, were “living separately right now.”

A third insider, meanwhile, noted that Simpson and Johnson are “trying to figure out a separation without disrupting their kids’ lives as much as possible.”

“They are both really committed to the wellbeing of the kids and trying to figure out what’s best for them,” the source added.

While neither Simpson nor Johnson has addressed their marital status, a fourth insider told Us that the country singer “is heartbroken” and it wasn’t an “easy decision” to make.

Simpson’s sister, , also shut down the speculation that her sibling was getting divorced. Simpson Ross, 40, succinctly told TMZ “no” when asked on November 11.

Simpson and Johnson had both previously been candid about their relationship.

“In terms of my marriage to Eric, I have never felt more myself or more free,” Simpson exclusively told Us in February 2020. “Eric and I have a true mind, body [and] soul connection. Some of the things he loves most about me are my flaws. I am most certainly in this marriage and this life with Eric by my side with free will!”

Johnson, for his part, marked their seventh wedding anniversary the next year.

“Jessica, I love you. 7 years into marriage and you still make me laugh just as hard as day one. I had fun yesterday celebrating us,” he wrote via Instagram in July 2021. “Our kids bring us so much joy and they could not be luckier to have such a fiercely empowered, unique, beautiful mama. I love you, babe!!!”

Two years later, Simpson marveled over Johnson in a 44th birthday tribute.

“Eric turned 44 on Sept 15 and his family gave him all the love cells we have to celebrate his life,” she wrote via Instagram in September 2023. “My heart is so taken with this Man, I could hardly call it my own. We love youuuu.”

Us Weekly reached out to a rep for the couple, but they did not respond to requests for comment.
