Pete Wicks has received a devastating setback just hours before the Strictly Come Dancing live show.

The ex-reality star and his dance partner, Jowita Przystal, are in danger of exiting the competition this weekend, based on the latest odds from bookmakers.

Betway spokesperson Mike Reading remarked: "Following the glitz and glamour of Blackpool and Wynne Edwards' elimination, the Strictly contestants are back in the ballroom to face another challenging week.

"This weekend, the stars will have to perform their usual routines and participate in a Samba-thon in hopes of progressing to everyone's favourite - Musicals Week. Reality star Pete Weeks is the 5/6 favourite to depart the dance floor this weekend, despite having been saved from the dance-off twice this series. Another dance-off survivor, Montell Douglas, isn't far behind and is priced up at 3/1 to Samba her way out."

"Meanwhile, Chris McCausland continues to lead as the favourite to advance to next week after delivering a flawless American Smooth at the renowned Blackpool Tower Ballroom, earning an impressive 37 out of 40 from the judges," reports Wales Online.

On Saturday night, Pete sported a pair of snug pink PVC trousers while performing the cha-cha-cha to Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy."

However, the duo's performance failed to win over the judges, resulting in a score of 27 points.

Despite his struggles, Pete managed to charm the audience at home, who voted him through to the tenth week of the show. Following the public vote, Pete took to Instagram to confess that he was "not a good dancer" but was making the most of the competition.

"Humbled. Overwhelmed. Grateful," began his post. "I'm well aware I'm not a good dancer, but I am trying. Every week @jowitaprzystal and I just want to make the most of what we can. We take it day by day, week by week. I know VERY little about dancing but what I have learnt is that it's about letting go and throwing yourself at it no matter what level of skill/talent you may or may not have."

Last weekend saw Wynne Evans and Katya Jones in the dance-off against Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe.

However, the judges chose to save Montell, who performed a salsa to Thelma Houston's Don't Leave Me This Way.

Wynne, partnered with Katya, shared his thoughts on his Strictly experience with Tess Daly: "It's been wonderful, I've got to say. "I feel like it's what Strictly is all about.

"If I can come and do Strictly and last until week nine, then anybody can get out there and dance and have a brilliant time. Strictly is such a brilliant family, such a precious family, that I want everybody here in this room and at home to look after it for the generations to come because it is a wonderful, wonderful thing."

Katya beamed as she recounted her experiences: "To be honest with you, the smile hasn't left my face since the first day of our training, since the day we got partnered up. You (Wynne) have made this experience so joyous and so full of laughter for me. I'm sure everybody was jealous because you're the kind of guy that everybody wants in their life."

She didn't stop there, heaping praise upon Wynne: "You bring light, you bring laughter, you bring charisma, you fill up every room you walk into with those qualities."

Not to be outdone, Wynne expressed his own gratitude: "To have been partnered with Katya has been amazing and coming every Saturday night to hang out with these guys (my other contestants), that's been wonderful."

Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturday at 7.05pm on BBC One.
