Scott Mills' BBC Radio 2 replacement confirmed as Zoe Ball quits after six years
In a major shake-up for BBC Radio 2, Scott Mills has been confirmed as the new presenter of the Breakfast Show – but who is set to replace him for his afternoon show?
Zoe Ball has stepped down after six years on the airwaves, with Scott branding his new role a "lifelong dream come true".
He also paid tribute to Zoe’s career, adding: "Zoe and I have been such good friends for over 25 years and have spent much of that time in the same radio family. I’m beyond excited to be handed the baton."
Now Trevor Nelson is set to take over Scott's former position. Currently the host of Rhythm Nation Monday, Trevor will move to the 2-4pm weekday slot from January.

Scott Mills is taking over as the BBC Radio 2 Breakfast Show host (Image: Getty)As he takes over Scott’s former afternoon position, Trevor has promised to bring his signature soul sound to daytime radio.
He is also bringing his popular game Five Seconds to Name to his new show.
Meanwhile, DJ Spoony’s The Good Groove will expand. The music show used to only air on Friday nights, but now it will be on four nights a week from Monday to Thursday, airing from 10pm to midnight.

The DJ expressed his excitement about his new schedule, saying: "What a dream to be able to host eight hours of The Good Groove each week on Radio 2, presenting the Radio 2 audience with some of the best dance and soulful gems from over the last 60 years on the UK’s most listened to radio station. It doesn’t get bigger than this!"
In another exciting change, Sophie Ellis-Bextor's Kitchen Disco will be extended to last for two hours.
The popular Friday night show, which is known for bringing “nothing but non-stop feel good tunes” to Radio 2, will now air from 9-11pm.
Head of Radio 2 Helen Thomas has shared her thoughts on the new lineup, saying: "It’s a privilege to welcome Scott to the Radio 2 Breakfast Show. He’s a multi-award winning broadcaster who has been working in radio since the age of 16 and I know he can’t wait to get started on the biggest Breakfast show in the land!"

"Breakfast has always been his dream, and what a year he’s had – from racing around the world to his beautiful wedding to Sam. He’s not only a blooming brilliant producer but one of the best in radio. I can’t wait to tune in on the school run!"
Several other key changes have also been announced for Radio 2’s schedule.
