Man Utd target Viktor Gyokeres teases transfer despite January move being banned
Manchester United target Viktor Gyokeres has hinted at a possible departure from Sporting at the end of this season.
The Swedish striker has become Europe's most sought-after talent following his impressive performances with the Portuguese champions, scoring 23 goals in just 16 matches this season.
Despite having a £83.5million (€100m) release clause in his contract, it is believed that Sporting president Frederico Varandas would consider offers around £66m (€80m), provided Gyokeres stays with Sporting until the end of the season.
This news is likely to alert some of Europe's top clubs and could trigger a fierce competition for his signature next summer.
With United's recent appointment of Gyokeres' former Sporting boss Ruben Amorim, they are considered one of the favourites to secure Gyokeres. Amorim and Gyokeres had a strong bond during their time together in Lisbon.
Given United's current struggle for goals in the Premier League this season, they are in dire need of a world-class finisher.

Amorim, who will spend his initial six months at United evaluating the squad, was told when he left the Portuguese club last week that he wouldn't be allowed to approach them in the January transfer window and would have to wait until the summer.
Amorim will also enjoy the substantial financial support of United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
Gyokeres remains focused despite transfer whispers, expressing no immediate desire to leave his current squad. He stated: "These are rumours, nothing concrete.
"Of course I want to finish the season at Sporting, I enjoy my time there. I don't feel stressed about making a change in the future."
Regarding his future prospects, he remarked: "We'll see when the time comes." And on Amorim's move to United, Gyokeres added: "It's very sad that he left, but of course we understand the decision."
