The Chase fans threaten to boycott ITV show as 'pointless' problem sparks complaints

Fans of The Chase were furious while watching this evening as they begged for show producers to make big changes in fear of the ITV quiz show "losing it's appeal".

Presenter Bradley Walsh welcomed Caroline from Cambridge, Alexander from Leeds, Emma from Kent and Alan from Derbyshire. Together, they pitted their wits against one of the ruthless Chasers, Darragh Ennis, in the hope of winning a potential prize pot worth thousands of pounds.

However, one by one each of the players disappointed fans at home as their best simply wasn't good enough and all four contestants were caught by The Menace. Two of the players opted for low offers, hoping to remain in the competition but it simply wasn't to be.

Fans at home rushed to social media to share their thoughts, with The Chase hashtag trending on Twitter. They harshly criticised the ITV quiz show, with one writing: "Ffs - another low offer …. This show is going downhill fast.. the producers need to sort it out & fast … it’s losing its appeal … #TheChase."

Another added: "I do wish the producers of #thechase would chose more competent players. Make it better TV." While a third said: "What happened to this series #TheChase."

"Not worth watching #TheChase", someone else fumed, with another posting: "Oh dear, everybody out. What a disaster of an episode. A very poor team tonight. #TheChase."

One more added: "#thechase this is absolutely painful viewing, can’t believe I’m saying this but it may be time to switch back to Pointless."

const loadOvpScript=()=>{let el=document.createElement('script');el.setAttribute('src','https://live.primis.tech/live/liveView.php?s=118222&playerApiId=v118222');document.getElementById('ovp-primis').appendChild(el)};window.top.addEventListener('primisPlayerInit',e=>{try{if(e.detail&&e.detail.playerApiId==="v118222"){if(window.document.getElementsByClassName('jwplayer')[0]){e.detail.float('disable')}}}catch(e){}});window.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded',()=>{setTimeout(()=>{if(typeof flagTcfLoaded!=='undefined'&&flagTcfLoaded===!0){loadOvpScript();ExpressApp.Log('[Load] OVP flagTcfLoaded',new Date())}else{document.addEventListener("tcfLoaded",()=>{loadOvpScript();ExpressApp.Log('[Load] OVP tcfLoaded',new Date())})}},1500)})

Depsite all of the players being caught, they still had a bash at the final chase, with Alexander being chosen to represent the team with £4,000 up for grabs.

Sadly he was caught once more and again all players were sent packing with absolutely nothing in their pockets.

What happens when all players are caught on The Chase?

It is very rare that not a single player makes it through to the final Chase, but it does happen as proven in this evening's epsiode. However, it would make for a very short show if the final round were to be axed.

Rather than cutting the programme short, one caught contestant is nominated by the team and returns to face the Chaser alone. The prize fund is reset at £4,000 and, should he or she win the money, it’s split four ways.
