Countryfile's Anita Rani lands new role away from BBC show
Countryfile star Anita Rani has landed a new job away from the BBC show. The popular presenter will be hosting a new programme over the festive season.
She will be joining the BBC's heartwarming documentary series My Life At Christmas, which is due to air December 1. The programme is an annual BBC series that brings together notable figures to share their cherished holiday traditions.
It is set to see Anita sit down with Dame Sheila Hancock and Rudolph Walker to find out what Christmas means to them. In the documentary they will delve into their family life and faith.
The show is often hosted by star names, with Guardian columnist Adrian Chiles and comedian Sally Phillips havin taken the reigns previously.
While Anita is known for her role as a presenter on the popular BBC programme, she has typically kept her personal life private. However, she split from her husband Bhupi Rehal in 2023 after 14 years of marriage.

Anita referred to the next part of her life as a new chapter, saying: "I'm in a good place. I'm focusing on myself and my own wants."
She added: "It's nice to be able to think about the second phase of my life. I've been calling it Chapter Two." The BBC star went on to reveal how becoming single in her mid-forties has sparked a personal transformation.

She explained: "Becoming single in my mid-forties has made me re-evaluate everything. It has made me see how much I have been conditioned to be a dutiful woman, rather than a free woman."
It comes after Anita revealed back in May that she had moved back into a flat she purchased 30 years ago and decided to renovate it into her dream home following her split from her husband.
She told Good Housekeeping: “I feel like I've stepped into a place that I never, ever expected myself to be in. I'm in uncharted territory - I'm a single, Asian woman with no children, and do you know what? I love it!”
