BBC Shetland fans 'work out' who killed Annie after huge twist
Viewers of the gripping crime drama Shetland are certain they've cracked the case surrounding Annie's mysterious death.
The latest episode sent shockwaves with revelations about her hidden past. Annie had previously alarmed Tosh (Alison O'Donnell) by hinting she needed to tell her something pressing, but vanished before their meeting. Her absence took a sinister turn when she was discovered dead on a construction site owned by her estranged husband, Ian.
Complicating matters, another man named Anton Bergen was found deceased at the same location, and there were fears Noah, who escaped yet had blood on his shirt, may have witnessed his mother's murder.
The plot thickened during Wednesday's episode, when insights into Annie's secret life were unveiled. Remarkably, as a teen prodigy in mathematics, she joined university at just 15, only for her to become a spy with Professor Euan Rossi playing a significant role, reports the Daily Record.

The fresh details have fans speculating wildly, with some sure they know who is responsible for Annie's demise.
Eagle-eyed enthusiasts took to social media to share their theories, with one speculating: "Professor to kidnap Noah next? #Shetland," while another said: "Noah is definitely the professor's son. That's prob why the dad keeps going off on benders."

Annie Bett was there the day Bergen confronted the parents and she was killed in the crossfire. It's munchausen by proxy (induced illness)."

Chatting with Radio Times, she said: "I was really excited [by that twist]. I knew that there was going to be this sort of MI5 element before I'd even read the script, and I thought that's really cool.
"I was in the middle of reading the Richard Osman books at the time, so I was like, 'Oh, I know all about this.' And I think it's really fun territory because you get so much for free with that one. All these people are professionals at skullduggery, so there's so much to be mined there."
*Shetland airs Wednesdays at 9pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
