Antiques Road Trip expert in disbelief as household item makes eye-watering profit
Antiques Road Trip expert Natasha Raskin Sharp asked "is this happening" after one of her items sold for almost 10 times what she paid for it.
During an episode of the BBC show, Natasha and Phil Serrell embarked on a treasure-seeking journey across England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Phil placed his bets on an antique bowler hat and some vintage dumbbells, but what truly caused a stir was Natasha's lucrative find in the form of an 1873 tea service set.
Upon discovering the exquisite set, Natasha couldn't hide her amazement, exclaiming: "I can't even cope with it, it is so.."
With palpable excitement, she added: "I don't think I have ever described a tea server before as heady, but that is a heady affair. The palette, first of all, the pink!
"It reminds me... Who does it make me think of? Is it a bit of Barbara Cartland or something? I mean it is just so full on. It looks very Continental."

Natasha couldn't hide her enthusiasm as she declared: "I think instantly I know I have to have it. I think, straight away, I'm in."

I'm in love with it."
In addition to the captivating 13-piece tea service, tagged at £120, Natasha had her eyes on a whiskey noggin, which bore a price tag of £60.
Eager to strike a deal, Natasha proposed to the shopkeeper: "Would you take £80 for the tea service, and would you take £35 for the noggin?"

The proprietor pondered the offer and disclosed: "I think I would have to go £45 for the noggin. I'm quite happy with the £80 for the tea service."
Natasha then proposed a deal: "Could we say £120 and have a deal?" which was accepted, leaving her triumphantly exiting with £150 still in hand for the day's challenges.
After an eventful day scouring for treasures, Natasha and Phil headed to the auction in Wrexham, Wales, where the anticipation for their finds to hit the auction block was palpable.
The bidding commenced at £75 and swiftly escalated to £150, prompting Phil to concede with a humorous remark: "Goodnight Mr Serrell."
The bids for the tea service soared from £200 all the way to £400, eliciting an astonished reaction from Natasha: "Are you kidding! Is this happening?"
Natasha asked "is this a joke" as she made a whopping £670 profit (Image: BBC) window.topArticlesScript="https://cdn.images.express.co.uk/js/dist/article-top-articles20241113.min.js"The gavel eventually fell at £750, with the auctioneer announcing: "We are online at £750 anywhere else now? At £750 finished, sold at £750."
A flabbergasted Natasha couldn't believe her luck: "Is this a joke? This is the best thing that has ever happened to me," after netting a staggering £670 profit from a single item.
Phil offered his congratulations: "Well done you! Are you, please? Are you pleased that is a stupid question, isn't it? Are you sure this isn't your lot? That is brilliant isn't it."
While Phil ended the day commendably with £291.64 from his starting pot of £189.64, it was Natasha who emerged victorious, closing out the day with a whopping £818.70.
Exiting the auction, Natasha couldn't contain her excitement and quipped to Phil: "Oh Phil let's do it all again! I'll go and find us a new classic car."
