This Red Hot Chili Peppers busker had no idea he was performing one of their classic tracks in front of Chad Smith
A busker has gone viral after performing one of Red Hot Chili Peppers‘ classic songs, completely unaware that he was being watched by Chad Smith.
The talented drummer, who has been viewed more than 64million times on TikTok, was filmed jamming away on Santa Monicaâs Third Street Promenade to a rendition of the bandâs 1999 hit song âOthersideâ.
Sitting opposite was the band’s drummer nodding along to the busker’s rendition of the track.
The person who captured the moment, captioned the video: âWho wants to tell him?â before adding in the description: âImagine shooting hoops in front of Michael Jordan and not even realising it?â

The drummer himself, Armond Davis, later shared the video on his own TikTok page and admitted that he didnât know that Smith was watching him.
âYesterday, I played âOthersideâ by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and halfway through, I noticed someone really vibing which isnât unusual,” he wrote.
“But when I finished, a few people told me Iâd just played for Chad Smith, the drummer of RHCP. Hearing him say I sounded good on a track heâs known for? Completely surreal. I canât wait to see where this journey takes me next!â

Earlier this year, Oasis guitarist Bonehead gifted a busker in Glasgow tickets to one of Liam Gallagher‘s âDefinitely Maybeâ anniversary shows in the city after they performed the band’s 1994 hit âHalf The World Awayâ.
Dua Lipa also reacted to a busker who performed to her while at this yearâs Glastonbury Festival.
Elsewhere, Chad Smith recently made an appearance at Ozzy Osbourne‘s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.
During the ceremony at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio, a tribute to the singerâs solo career was performed by Billy Idol, Tool‘s Maynard James Keenan, and country artist Jelly Roll, alongside a backing band comprised of bassist Rob Trujillo, Zakk Wylde, Wolfgang Van Halen and Smith.
