Britain's 'biggest comedy show this year' has just been renewed by ITV
Alan Carr hit comedy show Changing Ends has been renewed for not one, but two more series after being named the ‘biggest comedy show this year’
The self-penned show is based on the star's own life growing up in the Midlands in the Eighties as the gay son of a Fourth Division football manager.
The cast includes Oliver Savell as young Alan, alongside co-stars like Shaun Dooley, Nancy Sullivan and Taylor Fay (Gary Carr), who play other members of the family. As well as Gabby Best, Harry Peacock and Rourke Mooney.
Now the new storylines will see the action move into the Nineties as Young Alan heads into his teens. ITV confirmed that the third and fourth series will consist of six episodes each and be recorded back-to-back. The release dates for the two upcoming series have yet to be announced.
Since the show launched last year, the comedian's semi autobiographical comedy has been streamed over 13 million times on ITVX and been nominated for various awards throughout 2024.

He added: “I know how much this show has resonated with the viewers and I promise I won’t let you down, and for someone whose actual life at times feels like a sitcom, believe me there are more tales from my childhood to be told.
"Two series commissioned eh? My dream of Changing Ends becoming Northampton's answer to The Crown becomes two steps closer to being a reality.”

ITV's Head of Comedy, Nana Hughes said "Changing Ends continues to grow into becoming one of our most popular comedies with audiences clearly loving the early adventures of little Alan Carr. The cast is simply superb and the heart warming storytelling has clearly struck a chord with our viewers."
Meanwhile Sarah Monteith, the CEO of production company Baby Cow, added: "We're delighted that ITV have trusted us with not one but two more series of our hit comedy Changing Ends. We're having fun with Alan's early-teens era, it's getting emotional!"
