Lee Carsley will name his final England squad on Thursday for the remaining two Nations League fixtures against Greece and Ireland. This will be the last international break before Thomas Tuchel takes charge of the Three Lions on January 1.

Carsley has already stamped his mark on the team by giving youngster Angel Gomes minutes in an England shirt. He also handed Chelsea winger Noni Madueke his first three appearances.

With many players a doubt through injury, such as Harry Maguire, Jack Grealish, John Stones, Kobbie Mainoo, Declan Rice and Cole Palmer, there could be more fresh talent bloodied into the 25-man squad.

Express Sport writers take a look at which players deserve a call up, with five players tipped to make their debuts in Lewis Hall, Timo Livramento, Elliot Anderson, Curtis Jones and Morgan Rogers...

The right-back trio of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James and Tino Livramento are all too good to leave out, and one of them will need to fill in at left-back in any case. Kyle Walker has been short of his best in recent months so he drops out.

Kobbie Mainoo should be in if he recovers in time, while Morgan Rogers has done more than enough this season to earn his first senior call-up. Nottingham Forest are flying and Morgan Gibbs-White deserves to be rewarded for his part in that.

Further forward, Jarrod Bowen comes in for the injured Jack Grealish. The West Ham man’s form would be enough to see him selected ahead of the Manchester City man even if they were both fit.

Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford, Dean Henderson, Nick Pope

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Reece James, Ezri Konsa, John Stones, Levi Colwill, Marc Guehi, Tino Livramento

Midfielders: Declan Rice, Kobbie Mainoo, Conor Gallagher, Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Cole Palmer, Morgan Rogers, Morgan Gibbs-White

Forwards: Anthony Gordon, Noni Madueke, Bukayo Saka, Jarrod Bowen, Harry Kane, Ollie Watkins, Dominic Solanke

Assuming that the likes of Jack Grealish, Eberechi Eze and Kobbie Mainoo are unavailable due to injury, Lee Carsley may make a few surprise call-ups in his final England squad.

Lewis Hall and Elliot Anderson have both enjoyed exceptional seasons and would be worthy of being named in the Three Lions camp for the first time. Reece James is fit again and it will be a close call between the Chelsea captain and Kyle Walker, but one eye has to be on the future and that is James, with Tino Livramento also unlucky to miss out.

It is time for Curtis Jones to make his first England cap, having dazzled under Arne Slot, while Grealish’s absence opens up another opportunity on the left. Morgan Rogers more than deserves his spot with the senior team ahead of Marcus Rashford, Harvey Barnes, Raheem Sterling and Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope, Aaron Ramsdale

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Levi Colwill, Marc Guehi, Ezri Konsa, Rico Lewis, John Stones, Reece James, Lewis Hall

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Conor Gallagher, Angel Gomes, Curtis Jones, Cole Palmer, Declan Rice, Elliot Anderson

Forwards: Anthony Gordon, Harry Kane, Noni Madueke, Bukayo Saka, Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins

Lee Carsley could be forgiven for blooding some young guns when he announces his final squad as England interim boss. But he’ll base his selections on his last squad and will account for any absentees.

If Jack Grealish and Kobbie Mainoo are ruled out through injury, Carsley should hand places to Jarrod Bowen and James Maddison. Bowen is West Ham’s best attacking player, while Maddison is back in form, having curled a sumptuous free-kick into the back of the net at the weekend.

Carsley may have been tempted to turn to either Jarrad Branthwaite or Jarell Quansah if John Stones isn’t fit. But given the fact the Everton defender has only just returned from injury and Quansah can’t get a game for Liverpool, the England boss should include an extra attacker and give Morgan Rogers a go.

Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford, Dean Henderson, Nick Pope

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Levi Colwill, Marc Guehi, Ezri Konsa, Rico Lewis, Kyle Walker

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Conor Gallagher, Morgan Gibbs-White, Angel Gomes, James Maddison, Cole Palmer, Declan Rice

Tino Livramento has been exceptional of late for Newcastle and deserves a chance to challenge for the left-back spot. To shoehorn him in, I've omitted Angel Gomes, who hasn't done much for Lille this season.

Jack Grealish and Kobbie Mainoo would be in if not for their respective injuries. I've replaced them with Nottingham Forest forward Callum Hudson-Odoi, who has earned his chance for a first cap in six years, and Bournemouth's Lewis Cook, a solid central midfielder adept at tackling and creating.

Lastly, Jarrod Bowen might get the nod ahead of Noni Madueke as the Chelsea winger's form has dipped in recent weeks.

So Lee Carsley is set to name his squad for his final bow as England interim head coach, but he'll do with little room for experiments. After opting to play without a striker in his side's embarrassing home defeat to Greece in September, the Three Lions will now head to Athens on November 14 needing to win to keep their hopes of finishing top of their UEFA Nations League group alive.

Three points will also be needed at home to Ireland three days later, but the results will seemingly need to be achieved without the injured John Stones. Jack Grealish is also unlikely to be picked given his own fitness issues, unless Carsley fancies risking the wrath of an apoplectic Pep Guardiola.

Jarrad Branthwaite has been declared fit again, and with Lewis Dunk ruled out, should get the nod to replace Stones. The form of Curtis Jones also merits a recall, despite Morgan Gibbs-White being recalled to the Nottingham Forest XI last weekend, while Jarrod Bowen appears a better option to fill the Grealish void as Marcus Rashford continues to underwhelm.

Goalkeepers: Dean Henderson, Jordan Pickford, Nick Pope

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold, Levi Colwill, Marc Guehi, Ezri Konsa, Rico Lewis, Jarrad Branthwaite, Kyle Walker

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Conor Gallagher, Curtis Jones, Angel Gomes, Kobbie Mainoo, Cole Palmer, Declan Rice
