BBC Escape to the Country Nicki Chapman told 'we'll miss you' after career announcement
Escape to the Country star Nicki Chapman has announced she is joining Magic Radio.
Starting on January 6th 2025, Chapman will be on the Mellow Magic airwaves from Monday to Thursday at 8pm, stepping away fro her BBC Radio 2 replacement role for when hosts aren't in.
Mellow Magic is one of the biggest shows on Magic Radio, providing a soundtrack with an array of classic hits spanning from Adele to ABBA, and Whitney to Westlife, Nicki is set to be the companion that eases listeners into their nightly routine.
Nicki expressed her excitement about taking the helm of such a revered show: "I'm honoured to be presenting Mellow Magic at the start of next year - it's such an iconic show & brand. I'm really looking forward to playing some of the world's greatest songs each night - many of which I've been involved in - and becoming friends with the listeners, however they're spending their evenings."

Adding to the anticipation, Magic Radio Content Director Paul Sylvester said: "I'm thrilled to be able to announce that Nicki, one of the most experienced and accomplished radio broadcasters in the UK, is joining the Magic Radio family. We know that listeners love her relaxed style and tone, making her the perfect fit for radio's most iconic evening show and we know that she'll welcome in audiences with her immense warmth and stories of a career in music."
In addition to Mellow Magic, Nicki will also be at the helm of a series of music specials and in-depth interviews throughout the year for Magic Radio.
Lynn Parsons, the current weekday presenter of Mellow Magic, will transition to hosting the show on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday evenings. Jen Thomas will continue to be a part of the Mellow Magic team.
