GMB's Susanna Reid's 'breaking news' sparks fury as fans slam 'pointless' US coverage
Good Morning Britain presenters Susanna Reid and Ed Balls headed out to Washington DC to film a special night of US election coverage – but fans weren't happy.
During Wednesday's ITV show (November 6), one guest swore twice live on-air as Donald Trump declared victory for the second time.
Susanna took to Instagram to share a snap of her with her co-star Ed, penning: "TRUMP WINS! Like 2016 all over again - except this time I called it right… Incredible morning of breaking news on @gmb with @edballs."
But baffled fans turned out in force in her comments section, with one fuming: "So why did you have to go all the way to America for that? Pointless waste of money."
Another agreed: "Wish I could jet off to the US for work on a whim..." and a third fan said: "These two are just on a jolly, hope ITV only bought them a one way ticket!"

Former Republican candidate Joe Walsh joined the breakfast programme to give his verdict on the election, and let slip a swear word not once but twice, which caused a stern telling off from Susanna.
Joe fumed: "But here’s the difference – the American people were p***ed off. They were angry, and that’s why they reelected this guy. He is an utterly horrible human being, but the American people overlooked all of that.
"Donald Trump lies every time he opens his mouth. He tried to overthrow an election. I could go on. But the American people overlooked all of that because they were p***ed off on some basic issues."

Susanna interjected: "I’m not entirely sure we can use that phrase at five to eight in the morning."
And Ed chimed in: "It’s the American term rather than the British term," as he tried to smooth things over.
Fans on X, formerly Twitter, thought the scolding was too much, with one penning: "So you can’t say ‘p***ed off’ on #GMB but you can give this ‘adult film star’ a platform to talk a lot of nonsense after [allegedly] taking hush money."
Another added: "Someone just got pulled up for saying 'p***ed off' twice on GMB total meltdown... and I don't think it's cos Trump won, it's cos they nailed their colours so publicly to the mast..."
