Wallace started with a four-shot lead, but Alfredo Garcia-Heredia’s birdie on the last hole tied them at 11 under, forcing a playoff at the 18th tee in Crans-sur-Sierre.

The Englishman's approach shot landed eight feet from the hole, putting pressure on Garcia-Heredia, 42, who missed his 18-foot birdie attempt.

As his putt dropped into the hole and secured his victory the star was visibly proud.

And, speaking to Sky Sports, Wallace apologised for crying as he started to process what it meant to win the tournament.
