BBC Strictly Come Dancing star withdraws from show as viewers demand 'replacement'
Strictly Come Dancing fans are up in arms following Amy Dowden's sudden exit from the show, with many taking to social media to voice their concerns after the professional dancer was rushed to hospital during Saturday's live broadcast.
The BBC has since announced that Lauren Oakley will step in for Amy in this week's upcoming live performance. Disgruntled viewers expressed their sympathy for Amy's celebrity partner, JB Gill, who was left standing alone during the results announcement.
The JLS singer had to face the results show alone without Amy by his side which sparked concern from viewers who claimed someone should have stepped in on the professional dancer's behalf.
One X user lamented: "Did anyone else feel sorry for JB standing all on his own when they were announcing who was safe? They could've at least got Karen to step in for are Amy at least."
Echoing the sentiment, another viewer commented: "JB standing on the stairs on his own is so sad, hopefully lovely Amy is okay."

Standing there is daunting in itself but standing there ALONE! What if he was in the Danceoff? Would Lauren or Karen have to step in last minute?"
Questions about the show's contingency plans were raised by another viewer: "Genuine question. If JB and Amy were in the face off, what would have happened? As you can't expect a pro to learn the dance so quickly or would it have been fair on JB to dance with a new pro, especially for a dance off, with a moments notice!"

Thank God she's OK and that he's through to next week's shows."
Another viewer queried: "What would have happened if JB and Amy were in the dance off again? Does he do it alone? "

While a fan commented: "It's a bit rough seeing JB standing alone for the results show!"
The professional dancer had to leave last weekend's show in an ambulance, and JB has been partnered with Lauren for Icons Week.
Amy, who had to take last year off the BBC show while she had treatment for breast cancer and also has Crohn's disease, is said to be doing well and show bosses hope she will be back next week.
