Girard-Perregaux Taps Into 70s Archives with Casquette 2.0 Titanium and Gold Edition

Girard-Perregaux has launched a fresh iteration of its beloved Casquette 2.0, an iconic model that first appeared in 1976. Known for its futuristic design inspired by 70s sci-fi culture, the Casquette line has long captured the attention of collectors. This latest model, crafted in Grade 5 titanium with an 18K 2N yellow gold GP logo and matching pushers, pays homage to the original’s bold aesthetic while integrating modern upgrades.

Originally introduced in 2022 in a black ceramic and titanium design, the Casquette 2.0 marked a return after years of requests from Girard-Perregaux enthusiasts. This new titanium-and-gold variant is limited to 820 pieces, ensuring exclusivity for those who secure one. Its distinctive tubular LED display showcases hours, minutes, seconds, day and date, enhanced by additional features like month, year, chronograph, second time zone and a secret date display — all powered by the Calibre GP03980 movement. Additional details include rubber lining on the bracelet and a micro-adjustable clasp for added comfort.

Notably, Girard-Perregaux is prioritizing its community for this release, from October 31 to November 14, "GP lovers" will enjoy exclusive access to place orders before the watch becomes available to the general public on the brand’s official website and select boutiques, at the price of $4,960 USD.
