Saturday Kitchen viewers rage 'put it away' after BBC guest's 'inappropriate' outfit

Sam and Kate Carter-Larg make mac and cheese

Saturday Kitchen viewers were left outraged by guest Kate Carter-Larg's outfit as the on-screen chef prepared mac and cheese on toast during yesterday's show (October 26). Critics took to social media and complained about her attire, branding her top "inappropriate".

Kate, the owner of St Andrews takeaway The Cheesy Toast Shack, joined host Matt Tebbutt on the BBC show along with her husband Sam Larg.

The show host was also joined by fellow guests Gennaro Cotaldo, Julie Lin and Sir Trevor McDonald.

Kate donned a low-cut strapless burgundy top paired with jeans. She scooped her brunette tresses into an updo' as she prepped a meal.

But her choice of outfit sparked fury among viewers who took to social media and dubbed her attire "inappropriate".

One person fumed: "Someone hand her an apron! No one is listening to what they have to say…just waiting for the top to fall #saturdaykitchen".

Another tweeted: "#SaturdayKitchen Did the lady forget to finish getting dressed?"

A third wrote: "She changed in to that top to cook?!?! #SaturdayKitchen." While a fourth vented: "Put it away."

"I can't concentrate on the show for worrying about her top falling down. She's pulling and tugging it as it keeps slipping," to which another viewer replied: "I know... inappropriate dress code."

Another said: "Wardrobe issues can definitely take attention away from the show itself. Hopefully it gets sorted out quickly so everyone, including her, can feel more at ease."

While the conversation stayed on the step-by-step recipe and history of their shack, viewers at home were distracted by the number of times Kate could be seen adjusting or pulling up her top.

During the demonstration, the business owner mainly focussed on the mac 'n' cheese concoction, melting different cheeses in a hot pan with pre-cooked elbow macaroni.

However, on Instagram, fans rushed to the show's official account to express their delight at supporting the independent business.
