Emmerdale's Vinny Dingle star's life - co-star romance rumours to hidden talent

Emmerdale: Bradley Johnson hints at Vinny Dingle's future

The Dingles have been at the forefront of Emmerdale's recent episodes as they bid a heartfelt farewell to Zak Dingle (Steve Halliwell), a beloved family member.

Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) was part of the funeral procession, assisting in carrying Zak's coffin into The Woolpack before his burial.

This marks Vinny's second major loss in two years, following the tragic death of his wife Liv Dingle (Isobel Steele), who was killed when a caravan collapsed on her during a violent storm.

Since his arrival in the village in 2019, Vinny has faced numerous challenges, including being targeted by the ruthless Tom King (James Chase) after defending Belle (Eden Taylor-Draper).

After being deserted by his father Paul Ashdale (Reece Dinsdale), Vinny was taken in and raised by Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), Paul's former girlfriend. Despite not being a blood relative, Vinny is regarded as a 'true' member of the Dingle clan, reports Leeds Live.

Despite often clashing with Mandy over her questionable actions, Vinny views her as his mother, even though his biological mother remains unknown.

However, Bradley Johnson, who portrays Vinny Dingle, leads a much more ordinary life away from the long-standing ITV soap.

In addition to his role as Vinny in Emmerdale, 26-year-old Bradley has appeared in Shameless, The Royal, and The Syndicate. He also has stage experience, having performed in Peter Pan and Oliver!

The soap actor catapulted to stardom in 2017 when he participated in the BBC talent show Let it Shine, a competition seeking the new cast for the Take That musical. Bradley secured his spot in the final with an outstanding performance.

Viewers of the talent show were astounded by Bradley's audition, where he performed Bring Him Home from the musical Les Miserables, a performance that went viral on digital platforms.

He has showcased his remarkable singing talent on Emmerdale's YouTube channel, The Woolpack Session, and frequently posts acoustic covers on his Instagram page.

Bradley and his beloved Sammie Johnstone have been together since August 2021. In October 2023, Bradley revealed that he had proposed to Sammie and she accepted, although a wedding date is yet to be officially announced.

In June 2024, Bradley declared that he and his fiancee are expecting their first child.

While Bradley is currently engaged to his beau Sammie, he was previously whispered to be involved with Isobel Steele, known for her role as Liv Dingle in the ITV serial drama before a grisly exit amid devastating weather.

Isobel at one point addressed the rumblings, explaining to OK!: "Brad is wonderful and such a good friend of mine. We are very similar and work really well together when we have scenes just us two".

She further clarified: "I can see why people jumped to conclusions, seeing two characters spending time together on and off-screen! For the record, me and Brad are not in a relationship. We are just very good friends who enjoy each other's company out of work as well as in work."
