BBC Strictly's Tess Daly leaves fans saying same thing as they notice bizarre habit

Strictly: Tess Daly compliments Craig Revel Horwood on 'new look'

Tess Daly sparked a flurry of comments on Sunday when she clapped her hands together without her palms touching while hosting Strictly Come Dancing  alongside Claudia Winkleman.

The clip titled "Tess Daly can't clap" now has over 200,000 views, and had many fans questioning the abnormal behaviour, as one suggested it was because her mic is close to her hands.

Another commented: "Everyone knows you can't clap next to a mic. The whole TV industry does soft clapping, stop showing yourself up."

While a third simply remarked: "Hilarious," and a fourth added: "Looks like a robot."

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: "No opening number. Straight in to the results and recap. Sorry, I just don’t like the new format AT ALL #Strictly."

Another added: "Another week of not starting with the group number can they please go back to the old format it’s just odd #strictly." A third social media user said: "#Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing PLEASE CHANGE THE FORMAT CHALLENGE!!!!!"

Welsh star Wynne Evans and his professional partner Katya Jones made their return to the dancefloor on Saturday night after their "inside joke" got them in trouble. A clip went viral on social media of Wynne moving his hand across Katya's waist before she pushed it away.

However, she later insisted she was not uncomfortable and it was an inside joke that was poorly received. At the time, Wynne admitted he was heartbroken over the scandal.

He said earlier last week: "I'm absolutely heartbroken by the things that have been written about me in the last day. It's not nice to live in that time, but basically Katya and I are really, really close and we're really good friends, and on Saturday night we made a stupid joke.

"It was a stupid joke that went wrong, OK? We thought it was funny. It wasn't funny. It has been totally misinterpreted."

On Saturday night's show, Jamie and Michelle and Montell and Johannes ended up top of the leaderboard with 39 points out of 40 each for their Paso Doble and Couple's Choice routines respectively.
