Strictly Come Dancing fans forced to do double take over awkward 'wardrobe mishap'

Strictly: Pete Wicks nearly trips Jowita up

Strictly Come Dancing fans were distracted on Saturday night when an apparent 'wardrobe blunder' caught their attention. In the most recent episode, viewers witnessed Pete Wicks make an entrance on stage donning a grey shirt paired with black trousers and his mane neatly swept back.

However, within moments, Shayne Ward graced the stage outfitted in an eerily similar ensemble of grey shirt and black trousers, sporting a hairstyle identical to Pete's, causing a stir among the audience.

Baffled fans rushed to Twitter to voice their confusion, with one viewer commenting: "Why is shayne dressed as pete? #strictly". Another chimed in with a similar curiosity: "Shayne and Pete look alike this week #Strictly! ", while others couldn't help but jest about the doppelganger moment: "me and my friend when we copy each others homework : #strictly".

One fan humorously observed the transformation happening on their screens, quipping: "Shayne there, seems to be morphing into Pete Wicks! #Strictly #StrictlyComeDancing #StrictlyComeDancing24 #SCD."

This coming Saturday night promises to deliver more refined performances, as Shayne teams up with professional dancer Nancy Xu for an American Smooth routine to Sam Smith's evocative 'Get Here'. Meanwhile, Pete's Rumba with dance partner Jowita Przysta, set to the tunes of Oasis classic 'Don't Look Back In Anger', is sure to be another highlight, reports the Mirror.

The latest happenings follow hot on the heels of DIY SOS star Nick Knowles bidding farewell as the third celebrity to exit Strictly following an intense dance-off against former Coronation Street star Shayne the previous weekend. Notably, Nick had just marked his comeback to the dance floor after having sat out one week due to a knee injury.

Nick, aged 62, and his professional dance partner Luba Mushtuk scored a modest 21 out of 40 points from the judges for their Charleston to "Rain On The Roof" from the film "Paddington 2", landing them just above the bottom of the leaderboard last weekend.

Reflecting on his journey with host Tess Daly, Nick shared: "I've really, really been surprised by how much I've loved doing it and by two things that happen."

He continued, revealing the emotional stakes involved: "One is how much you care each week, and the other is how much you don't want to let down your partner. The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba's changes, she's been amazing. There are some amazing dancers up there, and I will love watching the rest of the series."

A visibly moved Luba responded: "I've never met someone as determined as you, and I remember you saying that if you do your best, you'll be very happy. I think you did more than your best. Thank you."

Before Nick's departure, Toyah Willcox had been the previous contestant to exit the competition, with Tom Dean being the first celebrity to leave the show.
