BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans accuse bosses of 'setting contestant up' as exit 'sealed'

Strictly Come Dancing fans are suspicious that a certain celebrity is doomed for departure this week after allegedly "set up" by bosses.

The BBC series is back on screens for another episode, with celebrities and their professional counterparts hitting the dance floor again to clinch a spot in the forthcoming round following Nick Knowles' farewell last week.

During today's show, when Dr Punam and Gorka Marquez performed, viewers were nearly certain she'll be the next to leave the show. Fans speculated that putting her second in the dance order - a position notoriously dubbed the "death slot" - was a calculated move by producers.

Flocking to Twitter, one viewer expressed: "punam in the death slot again? oh they want her gone so bad #Strictly."

Echoing the sentiment, another tweeted: "I just said the exact same thing, that's Punam gone this week because they've deliberately put her in the death slot. #Strictly," reports the Mirror.

Yet another chimed in: "Punam in the death slot... they want her gone #Strictly," while a further comment read: "Punam in the death slot twice in five weeks isn't nice #Strictly."

A fifth observer noted: "Punam death slot.... They are setting her up #Strictly."

This week's Strictly has also been clouded by a controversial incident involving an "inside joke" between Wynne Evans and Katya Jones that backfired spectacularly. The situation escalated when Wynne placed his hand on Katya's waist, which she shooed away, only for him to attempt it yet again.

The exchange was captured on video, went viral on social media, and sparked fan concerns over Katya appearing "uncomfortable".

She later clarified that she was not uncomfortable with the incident, describing it as an inside joke between her and Wynne. In a post, she wrote: "I need to make something crystal clear. The hand incident that happened on Saturday night was a very silly inside joke between Wynne and I.

"So even the idea that it made me feel uncomfortable or offended in any way is complete nonsense. It's actually absurd. So let's focus on how brilliantly @wynneevans is doing and what an amazing dancer he's becoming! Happy Sunday everyone!"

Meanwhile, Nick Knowles, who left the show last week, expressed his concern about letting his partner Luba down. He said, "I've really, really been surprised by how much I've loved doing it and by two things that happen. One is how much you care each week, and the other is how much you don't want to let down your partner. The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba's changes, she's been amazing. There are some amazing dancers up there, and I will love watching the rest of the series."

Luba became emotional as she told him, "I've never met someone as determined as you, and I remember you saying that if you do your best, you'll be very happy. I think you did more than your best. Thank you."

Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One.
