Thomas Tuchel is the next chemist to step into the England laboratory and he will have to get all the components right to avoid it blowing up in his face.

The Lee Carsley experiment went up in a puff of smoke and the FA are taking a big risk with a hydrogen appointment like Tuchel. The hothead isn't exactly known for keeping a lid on things.

When Tuchel finally dons the white cloak and safety glasses - hopefully that's the most cautious he will be.

Goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders, and, most importantly, strikers, are football's periodic table.

You need the right balance to get that explosive reaction. It's a simple formula: to win games, you have to score goals. It raises the question - would it make more sense to put two goalscorers on the pitch rather than one?

Tuchel has the right elements to put into the melting pot and if he plays Harry Kane and Ollie Watkins together, he could get one hell of a reaction.
