Emmerdale fans 'can't believe' real age of Lydia Dingle star as she celebrates milestone

Emmerdale's Karen Blick, who portrays Lydia Dingle, was treated to an early birthday celebration on the night of October 16, with fellow cast members joining in the festivities.

Although her actual 50th birthday isn't until October 25, many of her friends and colleagues took to social media to share a snapshot of the pre-birthday dinner and extend their best wishes to Karen.

Lisa Riley, who embodies Mandy Dingle in the popular soap opera, posted a photo on her Instagram account that showed Karen Blick surrounded by Emmerdale stars at a restaurant.

The picture featured Karen with her arms around co-stars Mark Charnock (Marlon Dingle) and Emma Atkins (Charity Dingle).

Lisa captioned the image: ''What a beautiful night celebrating the gorgeous @karenblick1 Pre-50th-50th Birthday.... all our love."

In another post, Lisa shared a solo shot of Karen holding a glass of wine, with '50' inflatable birthday balloons in the background.

Fans were quick to compliment the Lydia Dingle actress on her looks in the comments section. One fan expressed disbelief at her age, saying: '' I Can't believe you're 50; you don't look anywhere near 50.''

Another wished her a happy birthday, saying: ''Wow. Happy 50th birthday, Karen. Enjoy your very special day,'' reports the Liverpool Echo.

Other comments included: ''50 - never! Happy birthday'' and ''No way is she 50, but Happy Birthday Karen Blick."

The soap actress has portrayed Lydia Dingle in the fictional Yorkshire village since 2016. Off-screen, Karen enjoys a blissful family life with her husband, Simon, and their two children.

She regularly shares snippets of her life with fans on Instagram.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV.
