Carlito Reveals John Cena Suggested He Use the Backstabber as His Finisher

– In a new episode of WWE Retrospective, Carlito recalled his WWE debut. He also revealed that John Cena was the person who suggested he use the Backstabber as his finisher. Cena’s persistence convinced him to use it as his finisher.

Carlito said on the move, “I took a liking to the backstabber. I didn’t use it as a finisher. Backstabber. I remember Cena was one of the first ones to point out at me. He goes, ‘Man, that looks like great move. You should use it as a finisher.’ I was like, ‘Ehh…’ But he kind of like, kept on, you know, getting me to try and do it, so I was like, ‘Alright, you know what I mean? Nobody else does the move like that. So that’s it.’ And then it just took off from there.”
