Manchester United have reached an agreement with Sir Jim Ratcliffe's FC Lausanne-Sport, which will allow three academy players to train with the Swiss club this week. Habeeb Ogunneye, Jack Kingdon and Ethan Williams jetted off to Switzerland on Monday morning, where they will have the chance to train with Lausanne's first team, reports the Manchester Evening News.

The trio, all 18 years old, are making significant strides in the academy and have been given the opportunity to gain experience with a senior squad due to United's agreement. Ineos took over Lausanne in 2017, and the arrangement between the Swiss side and United to provide academy players with overseas experience is a perk of their multi-club model.

Lausanne currently sit towards the bottom of the Swiss top flight, but it is hoped that training with their first team will prove to be a valuable learning experience for United's academy trio. Ogunneye was included in United's Premier League squad for seven matches towards the end of last season and has remained a crucial player for the Under-21s this season.

Kingdon inked his first professional contract with the club this summer and trained with the first team at Carrington ahead of United's match against Bournemouth in April.

Last season, he was instrumental for the Under-18s as they clinched the treble, frequently starting in central defence and twice donning the captain's armband. This term, Kingdon has ascended to represent the U21s and has started alongside Ogunneye in Premier League 2.

Williams' pre-agreed professional contract also kicked off in the summer, and he is another young talent who has been included in first-team training, a testament to his progress.

In academy matches last term, Williams racked up 17 goals and nine assists, and he started alongside Kingdon in an exceptionally gifted U18 team managed by Adam Lawrence.

United's deal with Lausanne marks a first of its kind, but an academy trip to Ratcliffe-owned OGC Nice was organised earlier this year and hailed as a massive success.
