BBC Strictly fans left reeling over dance-off as they say 'no one is safe'
Strictly Come Dancing live show on Sunday night saw millions watch the results to discover who would follow in the footsteps of Tom Dean and Toyah Wilcox, exiting the ballroom.
Yet, the evening's shock came when Shayne Ward and his dance partner Nancy Xu found themselves in the dance-off, despite ranking fourth on the leaderboard for their Cha Cha to Ain’t No Love (Ain’t No Use) by Sub Sub.
Reacting to the surprising result, Shayne told host Tess Daly: "I feel good, that's the thing about this show, nobody is truly safe."
News of Shayne and Nancy facing the dance-off caused a stir online with fans flocking to X/Twitter to air their disbelief.
One user tweeted: "Crikey, some serious anti-Shayne non-voting there, he was fifth yesterday with 30 points! ".

Joining Shayne and his partner Nancy in the dreaded dance-off were Nick Knowles and his professional partner Luba Mushtuk.

After both acts performed again, the judges delivered their verdict. Craig Revel Horwood opted to save Shayne and Nancy, a decision echoed by Motsi Mabuse.
Anton Du Beke concurred, leading to a unanimous vote for Shayne and Nancy to remain in the competition, resulting in Nick and Luba exiting the show.
Speaking after the show, Shayne shared a message with his fans reminding them of the importance of voting.
He wrote on his Instagram Story: "I would like to thank everyone who did vote for myself and Nancy. We are truly grateful for your time and support. Thanks to the judges I get to dance for another week with the most amazing teacher, dancer and now friend, Nancy.
“It’s a gentle reminder that no one is truly safe and that each vote counts. I hope to keep dancing for you all.
“A massive shout out to Nick and Luba, it was such a pleasure getting to spend time with you both. Nick, you are a gentleman! Luba, you are amazing.”
Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday at 6.25pm on BBC One.
