Good Morning Britain Ranvir Singh's secret health battle which caused boyfriend to step in
Good Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh has bravely opened up about her battle with Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), a condition exacerbated by the pressures of her career.
In a candid conversation with Holly Rubenstein on The Travel Diaries podcast, Ranvir confessed to self-diagnosing her condition, which is characterised by depressive episodes during specific times of the year, typically autumn or winter. Symptoms can range from fatigue and concentration issues to sleep disturbances, appetite changes, and even physical discomfort.
Discussing the impact of SAD on her life, Ranvir revealed: "I get Seasonal Affective Disorder so I find it really difficult to be in this house when nights draw in because everything is so dark."
Ranvir's openness about her mental health struggles led to a heartwarming gesture from her partner, who sought to alleviate her symptoms.
She elaborated on the support she received, saying: "My partner had to get me a light therapy lamp a few years ago for Christmas because I didn't know what was wrong with me.", reports Gloucestershire Live.

She explained: "It doesn't help with sleep, circadian rhythm and if you have SAD, which is self-diagnosed but I'm pretty sure I have it. Because you get up in the middle of the night, get into dark car then go into the studio and it's bright light but not natural light then you come out and the first thing you want to do is go to sleep but the last thing you're meant to do is close eyes between 9-11am - you need to get as much natural light as possible to set your body... but it's really hard to do."

Discussing how she copes after leaving the Good Morning Britain set, Ranvir shared that she attempts to "do emails and put in a few meetings" yet confessed: "You never shake off the feeling of permanent jet lag. It's a permanent sense of pushing through a fog. Everything feels trickier and eventually you think that's your personality."
Moreover, Ranvir expressed feelings of guilt over her work schedule, particularly regarding its impact on her son, saying she feels "guilty" for working the early morning shift "every day of her son's life", which makes her cherish their holiday time together even more.
