Lee Carsley makes feelings clear on where England 'blame' lies after Greece loss
Lee Carsley shouldered the responsibility for England's shock 2-1 defeat to Greece at Wembley in the Nations League.
The defeat marked unwanted history for the Three Lions as it was their first ever loss to Greece, who became the lowest-ranked nation to win on English soil.
The caretaker boss rued his decision to pack the midfield with attackers, a tactic he'd only trialed briefly before match night.

For Carsley, who was tactically ambitious, it was an evening that turned ugly fast, marking both his first defeat and potentially denting his prospects of securing the managerial position permanently.

It's disappointing. We experimented and it didn't come off. You have to have the courage to try things, but I'm happy to take the blame for this, because it was my idea.

"We've spoken about setbacks and how you respond to that. It will be a good test for us now, going over to Finland. It doesn't change anything. My remit remains clear and I'm in charge for three camps. This is still one of the best jobs in the world.
"I will give it everything I've got for the next three games, nothing has changed in that respect."
Pavlidis dedicated the historic win at Wembley to Greece defender George Baldock, who tragically died earlier this week at the age of 31.
"It's a special night because of him" Pavlidis told ITV. "We have thought about him a lot since we heard it the news. He was a special guy and we gave everything for him."
