The Chase's Paul Sinha hits out at ITV quizzer co-stars with brutal nickname swipe

The Chase star Paul Sinha made a brutal swipe at his co-stars while attending the Virgin Atlantic Attitude Awards this week.

The 54-year-old comedian and quizmaster has been a popular Chaser since joining the ITV show in 2011, appearing alongside fellow Chasers Shaun Wallace, Mark Labbett, Anne Hegerty, Darragh Ennis, and Jenny Ryan.

However, Paul stepped away from competing against contestants to host the prestigious event on Wednesday, October 9.

Speaking to a packed audience at the Roundhouse in North London, which celebrated the LGBTQIA+ community, he began his speech with a light-hearted introduction before speaking out about his co-stars, as reported in The Sun.

“A special welcome to those of you who are in full-time employment, because you won’t have a clue who I am. So allow me to introduce myself. Yes, my name is Paul Sinha but I’m better known as The Sinnerman," he said.

Turning his attention to his fellow Chasers, he added: “It’s a s**t nickname. It means nothing. I don’t mind, I feel I’ve dodged a bullet given the names of the other Chasers — The Governess, The Vixen, The Menace, The Beast, and The Dark Destroyer."

He continued: “I’m the only Chaser who’s not named after a sex toy. I have to tell you that hours of research went into that joke.”

The publication reports that Paul also aimed a dig at Phillip Schofield in light of his recent controversy.

He is reported to have said: “In one fell swoop I kicked into touch the triple crown of gay relationships. He was younger than me, get in, he was better looking than me, get in, and his job was ITV runner.

“No! I’m only joking. Nobody heard me tell that joke this evening. His job was trainee solicitor.”

Back in August the star opened up about how he goes on an annual trip with his fellow co-stars which started from a vacation to the Rhodes.

“It started a few years ago when a guy called Stephen, who’s the wealthiest man I know because he’s a dentist," said the 54-year-old. "We organised an annual holiday to Rhodes in the Mediterranean.

“Then Mark couldn’t make it because he was never around during the month. So this dentist, out of the kindness of his own heart, said ‘Why don’t you come to my house?’ and, being a dentist, it’s the largest house you’ve ever seen in the world.

Adding: “I won’t say where it is because it’s clearly secret, but we go for one week every year and we just get questions thrown at us for a week."
