Fiona Bruce branded 'out of her depth' as BBC Question Time special turns to chaos
BBC star Fiona Bruce suffered a backlash from viewers who claimed she "lacked credibility and neutrality" after the political debates got extra intense on Question Time - and there were calls to "defund" the BBC for "disgracing and humiliating" the UK.
With just weeks to go before the US election results are delivered, with polls showing a close call between Donald Trump and Kamala Harris, tensions are at an all-time high. Bryan Lanza, an adviser to Trump, was included among the special guests on the show, as well as Republican and Democratic members of Pennsylvania’s House of Representatives and the BBC's North America correspondent Anthony Zurcher.
There was also a live audience of US voters who watched on as the broadcast descended into a fiery rant. On Twitter afterwards, there was a huge backlash aimed at Fiona being "out of her depth" - but also a number of loyal supporters too. "Fiona Bruce is a disgrace," raged one.
One viewer said: "Fiona Bruce just showing how utterly out of her depth she is here - QT really needs to look for a new presenter."
Another added: "Fiona Bruce hopelessly out of her depth in US. Just tried to stop a panellist from making extremely important fact-check re immigration. She's brought over her madly inept constant interruptions & useless attempts to 'explain background'."

Someone else chimed in: "I will keep repeating this on a regular basis. As long as @BBCNews continues to employ Fiona Bruce, Laura Kuennsberg and Chris Mason it will continue to have no credibility as a neutral commentator on the political scene. It would be a joke, if it were not somewhat serious."

Their comments came as the US themed episode turned to chaos as American audience members began to shout "b*llocks" from the crowd, seemingly mocking the British word as well as the panel.
