YMC Taps Lavenham For FW24 Jacket Capsule

YMC and Lavenham have introduced a pair of quilted jackets with traditional details and modern utility updates for an inaugural collaboration between the two English brands. London-based YMC, which has curated a distinct blend of workwear and subcultural influences, tapped the quilted outerwear expert to co-create two styles made by artisans at Lavenham's Suffolk factory.

The Bros Bomber Jacket is inspired by vintage military bombers, boasting a ribbed collar, cuffs and waistband. The muted olive green fabric, also found in the other style, quilted in a traditional onion pattern reminiscent of authentic liner jackets. YMC's signature workwear touches come through in two roomy front pockets that become the focal point of the jacket.

The Heath Bomber Jacket designed for women, is a cropped and collared bomber with a hidden corduroy detail that becomes visible when the collar is inverted. Side pockets make a subtle appearance on the front of the jacket and a quilted flap covers the silver zipper closure. Unlike the Bros jacket, the waistband features adjustable bungee cords for another tactical touch. Both of the jackets were manufactured with 100% recycled polyester and include a classic orange interior.

The Half-Japanese YMC creative director Sage Toda-Nation shot the campaign himself last February in Tokyo, highlighting the historic dialogue between Western fashion and Japanese youth culture. The theme echoes YMC's FW24 collection which drew inspiration from Western prep style, while nodding Japanese culture in details such as denim patchwork.
