Supercomputer predicts next five Premier League manager sack dates including Erik ten Hag

The Supercomputer has tipped Erik ten Hag to become the first big managerial casualty of the 2024/25 campaign. The Dutchman is under huge pressure at Old Trafford after overseeing his side’s worst ever start to a Premier League season, compounded by United opening up their Europa League campaign with two unconvincing draws.

His future was discussed at an executive meeting at United on Tuesday morning which was attended by minority owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Joel Glazer.

Ten Hag of course, isn’t the only top-flight boss under pressure, but it’s his position currently under the most scrutiny after a £170million summer spending spree, following which he vowed to build on last season’s FA Cup win.

And if AI is anything to go by, he’ll be out of a job by Halloween, despite the Dutchman having a one year contract extension triggered by Ratcliffe and co during the summer. The Supercomputer is predicting that following the clash with Brentford on October 19, United will lose successive games with Fenerbahce and West Ham.

The advanced technology is tipping the ex-Ajax boss to be relieved of his duties immediately after the game at the London Stadium on Sunday, October 27. And less than a fortnight later, the second managerial scalp of the season is expected to follow suit.

Gary O'Neil's nightmare start to the campaign in charge of Wolves is expected to soon be ended for him. The Supercomputer has given his sack date as Saturday, November 9, a significant day given it’s when his team host Southampton.

Wolves are currently bottom of the table with just one point in seven games, with the Saints only above them on goal difference. The Supercomputer does not expect the Midlands side to come through the potential ‘six-pointer’ though, with O'Neill duly paying the price.

West Ham United manager Julen Lopetegui is the third man expected to be relieved of his duties, just before Christmas. The Hammers lie 12th with eight points from seven games, with the Spaniard given until December 23, two days after a home clash with Brighton.

The Supercomputer expects that to be the last of the sackings in 2024, but thinks the fourth will soon come in January. Despite Fulham currently lying eighth in the table, Marco Silva is tipped to go on Monday, January 20.

The date comes just two days after the Cottagers go to Leicester in the Premier League. And perhaps surprisingly, Silva is expected to go two weeks before the struggling Russell Martin is removed from his position at Southampton.

Despite just one draw from seven games ahead of his side’s own crunch match with the Foxes after the international break, the former Swansea man has been given until February 4. By that point, the club could well be in desperate need of a survival miracle, with AI implying that defeat at Ipswich three days previously will prove the final straw.
