Keanu Reeves Made His Professional Racing Debut at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Keanu Reeves is showing everyone that he is more than just a Hollywood star. Making his professional auto racing debut earlier this weekend, The Matrix actor initially qualified 31st out of the 35 cars and finished 25th. He ran as high as 21st place at some point during the race, even avoiding a first lap crash at Turn 14 in Saturday's race. Around the 45-minute mark, he also spun into the grass, but without a collision, on the exit of Turn 9 with 21 minutes remaining. He competed again on Sunday for a second race and placed 24th.

The 60-year-old actor competed at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the Toyota GR Cup -- a Toyota spec-racing series and support series for this past weekend's Indy 8 Hour sports car event. Driving the No. 92 BRZRKR car for his debut while promoting his graphic novel, The Book of Elsewhere, he drove alongside his teammate Cody Jones from YouTube's Dude Perfect. In the past, Reeves has had racing experience as he was a former participant in the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach in the celebrity race in 2009, where he won the event.

Following the Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend, the actor is scheduled to attend a 30th anniversary screening of Speed on Tuesday with his co-star Sandra Bullock.
