Smooth sailing

The 142-metre Alibaba superyacht, constructed by German shipyard Lürssen, has successfully completed its sea trials.

The vessel features an exterior design created by German Frers, characterised by a powerful yet timeless appearance. The yacht’s interior layout, covering 2,000 square metres across five decks, and 1,000 square metres of exterior social spaces, was conceived by Nauta Design.

“It has been a super exciting four years of creative work defining any minor detail of what I would define an outstanding combination of atmosphere and unique lifestyle experience,” says Mario Pedol, President of Nauta Design.

The yacht is equipped with a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion concept aimed at enhancing environmental performance. Additionally, it incorporates an electric azimuth pod drive, offering the owner a variety of propulsion modes tailored to different operational needs.
