All Creatures Great and Small stars Samuel West and Anna Madeley have lifted the lid on the new cast changes fans can expect ahead of the new series.
The Channel 5 drama is set to return for its sixth series later this autumn, and the beloved actors have revealed that the star-studded cast is actually larger than you might think.
On Thursday (October 3), the dynamic duo joined Lorraine Kelly on her ITV daytime show to discuss the gripping new series which follows the life of Scottish vet James Herriot who works in the heart of Yorkshire in the 1930s.
Speaking to the ITV veteran, they discussed the madness of working with animals and babies on set. Samuel explained: "They're a lovely mix.
Samuel West and Anna Madeley opened up about their diverse cast (Image: ITV)"You have to have two babies, because if one falls asleep you’re not allowed to wake him up. And they don’t grow quite fast enough so we have to recast them for the Christmas episode, so there’s quite a few baby Jimmy’s."
The brunette beauty went on to add that "90 per cent of the crew" return for each series which has made it easier to film intimate scenes after building up such a close bond with one another.
Later on in the show, the 58-year-old actor shared an uplifting health update about Prunella Scales’ ongoing health battle. The 92-year-old actress, best known for her role as Sybil Fawlty in Fawlty Towers, has been battling vascular dementia since 2014.

When asked how his family have been doing in recent months, he divulged Prunella's new "philosophy" after a recent cruise trip.
He told viewers: "They're fine, they're fine. My mother went on a cruise the other day, I'm not sure if she knew where she was but she enjoyed getting there
She said: 'I don't always know where I'm going but I enjoy getting there'" and I thought if that is her philosophy, that might have to be mine as well."
Fans will have to stay tuned to see what happens on the new series of All Creatures Great and Small this month.
